Jian-Bang Deng is Assistant Professor in the Graduate Institute of Futures Studies at Tamkang University in Taiwan . In 2003, he received a Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Marburg in Germany . He is the author of Ethnic-Cultural Differentiation in the Era of Globalization: Taiwanese Businessmen in China as Example (2003). This is his published dissertation and is written in German. Most of his research is focused on migration and multiculturalism. He is currently working on a project on the challenges of mobility in a multicultural society under globalization .
